Pygmy Goats are a small compact breed of goat with their legs, head and neck being relatively short in relation to their body length. The body circumfrence in relation to height and weight is proportionatly greater than that of other goats.

Pygmy Goats were first imported in the U.S. in 1959 from Sweden to California and New York. They are now raised as livestock, pets, 4-H Livestock Projects, educational exhibits at zoos, or as good members of a homestead environment serving as providers of milk and ecologically effective browsers.

They are hardy, alert, and playful with even temperaments and a love for people and other goats. Since they are herd creatures, they do not like being alone.
